My apologies. I got carried away. Stevie does that to me.

Oh please. You're fine. Very fine. Very, VERY, fine.

This is the worst thread I have seen on this board. Just the title of it is like nails down a chalk board Then with so many comparing and measuring each member against the other. Who had more hits, who sold more albums, who is less successful, who has more talent, etc. Its really sad. I cant imagine a thread like this on another band like the Eagles. Can you imagine something like: Don Henley owes the Eagles NOTHING. He had a successful solo career. Glen Frey only had a few solo hits.
I mean....really! Its so 4th grade stuff.
Fleetwood Mac is like any other band. Each member is a pillar of strength and talent. When they work together its pure magic. To dissect them and make claims who is more talented is pure rubbish. The Mac is probably the most unique band for its members. Its a strength, not a weakness. Each adds something so incredible to the band. Each made each other the super stars they are today.

It's a mentality of insecurity. If you read between the lines, you can learn a lot about a ledgie.

We had a shipper era here during the non-Christine period and it was insufferable. Every post was about their romance. So this post is nothing in comparison. But we keep it movin..

That said, the people that disagree probably have so much more in common beside which member they like, etc. It becomes more visible in chit chat.

Personally I feel Stevie owes FM a few good songs for a new FM record! Prolific songwriter that she claims to be? More BS or has the well run dry?!

Doesn't she have anything important left to say? To inspire, change, and affect people's lives? Isn't that what should be the real driving force of writing and making music? Or is it about sales and money? Is she really that shallow? I hope she proves me wrong. A lot of her words and songs have been so inspirational and moving in my life.

I know what you mean... a lot of people felt the same way when Lindsey left the band. And when Christine left the band. Guess Stevie just felt it was her turn. I wonder if Christine having a fear of flying was just b.s. because her well had run dry.

But, Stevie hasn't left the band.

She had her turn from 1991-97.

ETA: While on her hiatus,, Christine released a solo album, which is only one solo album and a Fleetwood Mac album less than Stevie's output in that time frame, and she was mostly retired.

ETA2: Lindsey contributed a song to the box set in 1992 when he wasn't in the band anymore and helped finish "Paper Doll," not to mention his cameos on BTM and Time.

When you have nothing left to say, you have to leave, like Lindsey and Christine did in the past (oh, and don't forget Stevie!).

If your inspiration returns, you can always come back, like they all did.

This privilege of "being in a band but doing whatever I want" doesn't work for me.

Is it really that shallow of someone to want to make money? Who here would still go to work if there was no pay?
I wish Stevie would make a record with FM, but she's not shallow if she chooses not to. Please...
