I bought SYW about 3 years ago from a local charity shop, for round about £3....its one of my favourite FM Cds...

I saw it for $3 at the cd shop a while back. It was the deluxe version.

It came out when I was Eurailinig in Italy. I was staying for a few days with friends of my parents' friend. I remember buying the record in a small record store in Lucca and then going to their house and waiting until the next day when they were all working and I played it on their record player. I was so surprised when That's Alright came on because I hadn't expected it to hear Designs of Love, which is what the demo had been called. I love Stevie's and Christine's songs, but wasn't (and still am not) a big fan of Lindsey's songs. I think Love in Store, Hold Me, Gypsy, That's Alright, Straight Back, and Eyes of the World are the best tracks, and I like Wish You Were Here a lot too. I had to lug that record all around Italy and then back to Spain to fly home.

Perhaps we Americans are more astute at recognizing sub par FM recordings. Especially given the absence of the British songbird.

BTW, you do have "the rest" of them, right?

And SYW is a favorite?

That's like saying that K-mart brand toilet paper is my favorite brand....

To this day, I still don't like SYW. Its the ONLY Fleetwood Mac album I've EVER thrown in the trash.

WOW
Its definitely missing Christine but the songs are incredible. Its some of Lindsey's best work. If Chris was on the album it would out of this world.
No way trash material.

I have to say, SYW is certainly not traditional Mac and yes it's weird, but overall it's a phenomenal album. From start to finish.

I love Lindsey's song songs on SYW, but there are only a couple of Stevie's songs I like. Thrown Down and Illume were ruined by nonsensical lyrics. Lindsey's production was stellar.

Well, I'll happily take a shot of Jack Daniels.
Anyway, yes, Time is far better than SYW.
