1. I love that after about 37 years it still seems overwhelming to me. When I first heard it I thought "there's so much going in here." I still feel that way. I have yet to feel exhausted by the possibilities it offers.
2. I love the album artwork and photos. Very avante garde and sophisticated--but with a bit of irony and humor, too. 3. I love the thick harmonies on some of the tunes. Honey Hi, Brown Eyes, Never Forget, Sara, Save Me a Place (though this one is, apparently, only Lindsey overdubbed about twelve times). 4. I love the jarring juxtapositions of the sequencing--Over and Over followed by The Ledge; Not That Funny followed by Sister of the Moon, etc. 5. The title track remains one of my top five all-time Mac favorites of any lineup. There's nothing else like it in popular music. |
