So this is where Ken Caillat's mixes went. I remember when he posted about these mixes (White Album, Tusk) on Facebook. He said that Warner Bros. passed on the DVD-A format (because the format died in the US) so these were shelved. It's nice to have these on disc.

I recall there being a recent Richard Dashut reference to a 'home studio'.
I wonder whether RD had any involvement in the new Tusk work.

If you pre-order from Spin they will ship to America. I don't see what you're devastated about.

Wow, it will be worth all of this to finally have sisters of the moon live on an official CD somewhere. And really that whole St. Louis show is incredible, even if some will say rightfully, later tusk shows were a bit more epic, St. Louis is probably best for mass ears.

And I'm really curious about what this "alternative" tusk. How alternative is it. They aren't demos and outakes or else they'd be labeled as such. I would hope and assume they wouldn't waste a disk where the songs are all essentially identical?

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. The actual single version (NOT the hack job that appeared on the first pressing of the Tusk CD) is already available on CD via one of the Time/Life CD compilations. But it would be nice if they got this one right and actually included the version that was originally on the Sara 45.

Hmm...normally I would say no. But Richard made a sly reference of being back in LA, and that something was brewing. It's very feasible that he would be asked to assist in the production of this project.

Why is there six I Know I'm Not Wrongs? Do we really need six of those? Wait, there's the regular album version and the alternate album version, so eight. Do we really need eight I Know I'm Not Wrongs? And seven Tusks? Really? Can we have more sessions and outtakes of other songs instead?

Well, eh... Yes. I do. For me, it's basicly the reason to purchase this.

Because Papa was holed up in his house in Brentwood in the bathroom with tons of tile, a microphone gaffer taped to the floor, a drumstick and a Kleenex box on a chair. Not to mention his alt takes on the last Tusk reissue were gorgeous and really shows that if he actually wants, he could make pop music at the levels of anyone in this business today or yesterday. He just finds the idea abhorrent. What I want to know is if there's really a xylophone on That's All For Everyone or is he just fooling us with another instrument. This would make a fantastic Richard Dashut question. Someone please ask. I'm too lazy.
