Why do you think so?

I'm guessing you're talking about digital sales.
If so, it was certified gold on October 5, 2009.
I can't imagine it's sold an additional half million
or more to reach platinum.

Some are guilty of doing record company addition.
For example...

FM White Album (Landslide) 5 million +
FM Live 1980 - - (Landslide) 1 million +
FM The Dance - -(Landslide) 5 million
FM Single CD...

So on and so on. That's the only way I can see
it being multi-platinum.

If you want to know sales guys, just ask me!

I know for a fact that as of February 2013, just after the Budweiser advert featuring the song, Landslide sold 1,315,950 digital copies in the US. I would think that that figure would be over 1.5 million by now which means it is certainly eligible for a Platinum certification.

Also, in my opinion, the 1975 Fleetwood Mac album should be certified AT LEAST 7xPlatinum, Greatest Hits 9xPlatinum maybe even higher, Say You Will Platinum, and as we all know The Very best of needs a 3xPlatinum certification as it has sold over 1.7 million copies and is a 2CD album so they count them twice.

As far as Stevie's stuff goes, Bella Donna should be certified AT LEAST 5xPlatinum maybe more, Crystal Visions I know for a fact sold 505,512 copies in April 2014, and Edge of Seventeen sold 505,673 copies in May 2012.

If anyone has any questions they want to ask me regarding FM or Stevie sales then don't hesitate to ask or post on here because I'm a sales freak!

Thanks James for the info.Its just shocking looking at "Landslide's" numbers.

It could of been another number 1 hit for FM.I never understand why it was never released and hit the charts then.

Speaking of numbers...one album I can NEVER find any numbers on is Christine McVie's 1984 solo album. I was hoping someday to FINALLY see it certified gold.

Christine's albums' chart run is as follows: 70-42-35-33-*26*-26-26-35-36-56-63-73-73-84-84-83-81-108-113-127-138-147-183.

Now, I have no evidence but a run like that would surely mean sales of more than 500,000 copies. I read somewhere that Mick's album The Visitor sold approximately 300,000 copies and it reached #43 but didn't have the longevity of Christine's album.

Not really sure why they never certified her album gold.

If anyone knows what sales figures were like in the mid 80's, please share with us because I've seen many articles which state that sales were down in the early 80's which is why Mirage, #1 for five weeks and #2 for a further eleven weeks, only sold 2 million copies.

So, Christine's album spent three consecutive weeks at #26. To be at #26 in 1984, were sales around 50,000? Something like that? I don't know, I'm just guessing but if anyone has a rough idea then please share.

And that "1,315,950" figure, surely you
don't mean that amount was sold in a week
or so after the commercial aired?

One word about SoundScan. They don't count
every record sold. And the RIAA records of sales
is very incomplete for every artist.

Haha! That would be great wouldn't it! After the Budweiser commercial, Landslide sold 15,572 copies that week.
