As both a Fleetwood Mac and Star Trek fan, I want to see John live longer and prosper.
Leonard Nimoy hadn't smoked in over 30 years when he died. Which proves the point that someone else made, the damage had been done.

What in the devil, John? Could you HAVE more assistants? Next thing I know, he's going to have his own back up singers.

So, he and Lindsey didn't want to hug goodbye?

I was surprised too to see him smoking after beating cancer. But it's a hard addiction to break. I haven't smoked since my early 20's, but I still have an occasional craving.

I guess that hand gesture thing from John and the high wave over the head from LB is as bromancy as those two get. (Insert Tim Allen grunt).

to me it looks like they are waving and gesturing to someone behind them, not saying goodbye to each other, since the 2 of them walked together for a while after that. LB turns all the way behind him and waves really high.

I was wondering about that... Lindsey seems to be waving to someone way behind but John makes a gesture while it seems he's looking at Lindsey.

I'm sure by this point they're soooo ready for a little time apart, and not necessarily in a horrible or bad way, just fatigued.

I wonder how Mick and Lindsey part. I bet they touch as they bid adieu. Michele

Remember how Chris said that after the RRHOF in 1998 they didn't even say goodbye. They just all got in their rides and drove off, because they'd already said it all after the last Dance show. Michele

I'm going to have to go with olive on this. I really don't have much sympathy for him. John had Colon Cancer. Drinking & Smoking are major cause of Colon Cancer. Yes, John was a heavy drinker (and as of 1997, still is) Smoking is a huge factor too.

No, smoking increases the likelihood of all cancers, including colon cancer but it is not one of the major causes for colon cancer. Far more significant are poor (fatty, low fibre) diets, lack of physical fitness and significant alcohol consumption.

Oh man... why is this thread even here?

Shouldn't we be talking about the music rather than what the guy does in his personal life?!?

He's a grown man ffs, if he wants to smoke that's his lookout. Yeah it's not the greatest habit on the planet - but the dude is an adult and who the F*** are any of US to have a go at him for it?

Seriously get off the soap boxes it's getting boring.

If there are threads about Lindsey's past abusive behaviour or Stevie's drug abuse and abortion we can discuss this absolutely legitimate and free (even if stupid) choice of smoking like adults, without need to get defensive.

Agree entirely!
Two other things concern me here : the invasion of John's privacy as he is filmed and focused on for a few minutes as he's going about his business. This is so unfair to him. The fact that he is famous should not deprive him of his space.
Secondly, I'm very wary of these apparently ' professional ' autograph hunters who hang about airports and always seem to have albums/ posters to hand. I've seen the same done to members of the Rolling Stones who, despite their security are hassled by the
people as they wish them a safe journey or welcome them while at the same time
shove items to be signed straight at them. Most of these, of course, will end up on ebay.
Yes, let's stick to the music!

They don't have any new music to talk about and there's nothing new to say about the old music. I own Gotta Band, but I don't really want to discuss it.

He needs those assistants to keep his cigarette stash in stock. I assume he is the only one in the band that still smokes them.

Stevie had a passing phase smoking Kools. Lindsey must have smoked cigarettes for a time -- he is seen smoking on stage in the Mirage concert video. Christine used to smoke cigarettes, but I assume she quit a long time ago. I don't think Mick has ever been a smoker (pot exemption for all them).
