They should on the whole , go home and have a vacation with their nearest and dearest...Then, if your Stevie.
1) gaze out over the ocean reading some of your many Journals for inspiration.
2) watch "Game of Thrones" one whole series, back to back.
3) go through your wonderful wardrobe looking at the past memories.
4) have a holiday somewhere exotic and a holiday romance would be great.

Do anything but come back with 4 songs hand them over and say---job done--

A month off what? It's not like they have hard jobs. Their whole lives are a vacation.

last fall when I went to Mick's book signing someone was chatting with him about the band's plans, and he was telling her how they were already booked with no real break until April or May of next year (meaning now, in 2015) and that that window of time was already getting shrunken more and more because new dates were being added to the schedule. He said something to her about being in Hawaii and at his restaurant during the break (she was hoping to see him there).

There is a tendency sometimes to forget how much else all of them have going on in their lives. Mick runs the restaurant and who knows what other businesses (yes with partners); he's got property and pets and friends and family in LA and Hawaii...you can't just make up for months and months gone with one week at home. You barely catch up on sleep in a week.

Lindsey's got his kids and all their activities and school stuff and sports and whatever else they do that he's not been around for since fall, not to mention his wife and her business and such, all of which she's been likely handling herself (albeit with some hired help, sure) but without him for months. John also has his family and the like. Chris has family and home and dogs and friends and maybe some songwriting and the rest. Plus all the other stuff it's hard for them all to do on the road-- doctor appointments, dentists, cosmetic procedures, meetings with managers, accountants, property managers, bills to be paid etc etc. All the stuff of everyday life. Sure they have help, but with the possible exception of Stevie who it has been noted by journalists who interviewed her in her home doesn't even know how to turn on her dvd player or her disco ball, the rest of them aren't total pampered divas and have a lot of the same life sh*t to deal with and then some as the rest of us. I always find it funny when folks think the band's sole purpose in life is to just give us what we want.

The idea that life is easy on the road is a strange one anyway. Yes, they are well paid and working on the road is easier than being a coal miner or a McDonald's cook, but traveling non-stop and putting on a 2.5 hour show 3-4 times a week is not physically or mentally easy.

I don't care how much help you have. They are well-compensated, over-compensated. But being on the road is not a breeze.

In fact, even if they were traveling this much for vacation purposes ONLY, it's not a piece of cake. Personally, I know people have scheduled too many consecutive vacations or weekend getaways in a short time frame without asking me and it was a hassle. After a while, it is not relaxing any more to be constantly on the go, even if it's for "fun".

^^ this is true.
If you have been on holidays ... especially trips that last WEEKS ... it is HARD work. And it is exhausting. Holidays only aren't any work unless you are literally just sitting on the beach for a week and someone is bringing you drinks and all you have to do is stare at the ocean and turn the pages of your Game of Thrones novel

I respect your opinion but I disagree with all of this when it is pertaining to Fleetwood Mac. For your life or my life or most of the Ledgies life, all that traveling would be extremely hard on us.
I have a brother who works a full time job. He's 54 and he is a performing musician. He performs more shows a year than Fleetwood Mac does. Several times he performs morning shows. He is self employed. He'll do a few jobs in the morning and then go do a show. He carries all the equipment in and sets up all alone. Then performs and then dismantles and goes home, changes back into his work clothes and goes back to work as a janitor. Often after the janitorial work is done, he'll come home and shower and go off to perform another gig. His energy amazes me. And nothing in this world makes him more happy than the thrill he feels performing songs for people.And boy he makes good money too.
Now let's take Fleetwood Mac. Here we have five people who get to travel the world first class all the way. Every hardship of traveling is done for them. Everywhere they go important people wish to entertain them and meet them. People pay an enormous amount of money for a meet and greet and for a concert ticket. Imagine that awesome feeling just knowing how many millions of dollars you will be able to lavish your family and yourself with when this tour is over. THAT alone would thrill ME to the ends of the earth and no amount of exhausting traveling would affect me in any negative way. I could go on and on but I think you get my point. And this point applies to any top rock and roll band that exists in this world.

I feel exhausted at the end of one of their shows. Hell, I'm exhausted at the end of I'm So Afraid. Doing that on a regular basis with everything else that goes with it and then travelling in between venues must be pretty draining. Of course they have a privileged life, but touring cant be that easy at their ages.

I go on vacation normally once a year. I hate airports. I can't imagine the lifestyle of a rock star. I said this before in another thread, but I wish this tour wasn't so long. I want them to complete the album and then tour again afterwards. I just wish those international dates were for 2016.
