Yep. Nothing says "girl power" like having hit duets with Tom Petty and Don Henley. To her credit, I think those songs, and "Whenever I Call You Friend" for that matter, helped her distinguish herself as an entity outside of Fleetwood Mac.

Neither Lindsey nor Christine really did that. They were never able to distinguish themselves as solo artists. Christine had a duet with Steve Winwood, but it wasn't released as a single. It wouldn't have mattered, though, because Christine's career with Fleetwood Mac was much, much deeper than Stevie's.

Lindsey only managed mediocre success with Law and Order and wasn't as famous or as successful as Nicks which infuriated him.

I don't think he cared as much as people would like to believe. I think the "waiting around for" Stevie while they were trying to finish the album irritated Lindsey and especially Christine more than the fact Stevie was successful.

It sounds like I'm going off topic here but this was ultimately why he couldn't stand her during this tour.

I think he was pretty sick of being in Fleetwood Mac in general at that point. I think he still had a major chip on his shoulder about the band's reaction to "Tusk" which was only maybe worsened by Stevie's success. I don't think tearing up the charts was his main priority at that point, and felt out of sync with the band's return to a more commercial sound. In other words, Stevie's success could have symbolized a much deeper issue he had with the band.
