At the Mick M&G in Washington DC, when asked about a new album, Mick was non-commital, his words were something like..... "however this music gets out - as a Fleetwood Mac release or a Lindsey Buckingham solo release, we have some great music coming", I paraphase a little as I cannot recall excatly, but I sense some back peddling going on.
Anyone else who attended the Mick M&G in Washington DC wish to comment?

I think you are right about Stevie, but they don't really need her. Lindsey and Christine are magic and Stevie doesn't need them either. 24k proves that. Maybe they should part ways. They are not going to sale a bunch records either way. People don't seem to want new music.

24 KG is simply no Fleetwood Mac Magic. Not even one moment. And it doesn't contain ANY contemporary compositions from her. She's lost the art of songwriting on her own and should collaborate with Chris and then leave it to Chris and Lindsey to finish it.

One thing is for sure, there is not going be any album of any sort unless they stop the cash cow jukebox tour long enough to make one.

And it's possible I'm misunderstanding your meaning, but I think "Fleetwood Mac Magic" is a concept that only applies to an era long gone. Stevie's work with Fleetwood Mac hasn't really been consistently better than her solo work since... well, she began her solo career. Trying to force collaborations that an artist really doesn't want to take part in is going to reflect in sucky product. The best work will come from the artists doing what they love, and not worrying about whether or not its "Fleetwood Mac". |

24k gold is Stevie Nicks magic and it doesn't matter if the demos were old. She has such a large catalog, she doesn't need new songs. She is not going write songs with Lindsey or Chris. She needs to just leave and do 24k part 2. At least we know that will be a great album. Lindsey and Chris can handle Fleetwood Mac.

This may happen. And though I'm sure the people of Europe, Australia and South America would be thrilled to see them, I, as a fan who wants new music, would be crushed if the world tour stalls things even further.

Yes. I think it's time for them to bite the bullet and release a Lindsey/Chris album. They can call it Fleetwood Mac or anything else they like, really, I should think they'd just want to get the work out after having worked on it and being so proud of it. Stevie seems happy doing her solo thing, and everyone is getting their cash from the tour. There's no reason everyone can't just work in a way that's gratifying to them without endlessly agonizing over having the "classic" lineup in the studio.
