It's always a great experience for her when someone else is producing the record.

who did he say this to? A Ledgie? If a Ledgie heard this, please tell us about the conversation-- what did he say exactly? What was the question he was responding to?
Would love to get more info on this… Cannot believe she would be that obtuse at this point in their careers. Might this be a negotiating strategy by Stevie or her team?? ![]() |

Maybe Stevie is hurt they didn't wait for her. Chris comes back and now Lindsey and Chris are the best of friends. We all know the "Musical Love" of Stevie's life is Lindsey. This may have very well struck a nerve. I think the three songwriters are so confident in their work, they know each are despensable. Ego's are a fragile part of them so it seems.

And this is exactly why I didn't buy 24 Karat Gold. I got into the Mac in 1997 as a young boy after seeing the special on MTV and immediately went and bought all the albums past 1975 up to that point (yes, even Time). I've been waiting for a full-on Fleetwood Mac album for well over 15 years at this point. Say You Will was a good album but let's face it, it was a Buckingham Nicks joint with some excellent rhythm sections.
We deserve a final album and until then, I'm not buying Stevie's scraps (even though I bought In Your Dreams). She either needs to put up or shut up. I got tired of reading of her "boys club" Mac stories and now she has no excuse not to participate. It's (more than likely) one final album. Just get it the hell over with so you can retire peacefully into the sunset with the rest of the band. Does she really want to be known as the reason there was never another Mac record? That can't exactly look good for her, especially after the (what can only be called a) miracle of Christine's return. |

Oversaturation? No such thing exists in the Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks camp!I would hate for what could possibly be Fleetwood Mac's last album to be Stevie free. She could pull a Tango move and make some cursory contributions to the album, then complain about it later. It's rather startling that she isn't inspired at all to work again with Christine in the studio. Speculation has run rampant. I wish Stevie would address the issue and reassure fans that she is excited to make a new album now that Christine is on board. There will be a some vilification towards her if she doesn't step up and bows out. I'm sure a Lindsey/Christine album is feasible, but it's just not right at this stage in the game for Stevie to disrespect the people and institution who plucked her out of looming obscurity. Three songs and some harmony parts isn't much to ask for. After all, she is not a musician, so she has it much easier than the rest of them. They are carrying most of the weight. "She did her work, but Mac fans were quietly crying. Does she ever feel guilty about not even trying. Sad pampered Stevie." Take some hard advice Stevie. Go write some real songs!

I still think Stevie hasn't fully committed in any formalized way to an album and I think she is holding out as a negotiating tactic. That's just how albums seem to go with her/them anymore. (SYW and the EP). So whatever is in her heart about a new album, I think (my opinion only) that she's not yet made a firm commitment ("signed the contract" so to speak). Maybe she's waiting to see how the tour plays out vis-a-vis Lindsey; maybe she's still insistent on getting the producer SHE wants; whatever it is, she's hesitating.

This honestly does not come as a surprise to me. I wonder what her reservations are?
Is she being denied her choice of producers for her own songs? Or is she demanding the entire album be produced by her choice of producer? The latter could be tricky, given how Lindsey & Christine's songs are apparently finished. Or is Stevie not liking what she's heard from Lindsey & Christine's sessions? Maybe she's demanding a reboot? Perhaps she's pulling a Lindsey- demanding time for her solo career after these consecutive Mac tours? ![]()

I can certainly see her wanting to get in a tour for 24KG, perhaps in the second half of 2015, but that wouldn't have to stop her from participating in a Mac album next year too, not after the way she pulled 24KG together in a flash. |

I would hope Lindsey and Mick stand up to Stevie and tell her under no circumstances would they allow Dave Stewart to co produce a fleetwood mac cd. It would be horrible to have his crappy bubble gum sound on their cd. His sound is way too different than the Mac's sound and would take it in a direction I pray Lindsey would never accept. The Mac members have all made enough money off this tour to last them the rest of their lives, they should not have to bend over for Stevie and Dave. Kick them both to the curb. Hopefully she is just holding out for more money.
