24 Karat Gold songs in Fleetwood Mac Set List?

I don't think it does. I think it means a fair amount to them and I don't think Mick was just happy to play on Stand Back. I think he recognized that his set needed the boost. But FM recognizes much stronger lines of demarcation.

And no, the fans that want FM to shake things up in their setlist are mostly fans that want deeper FM cuts. They just don't want new songs just for the sake of new songs. Otherwise, they'd be advocating that FM start doing covers in their sets and very few focused fans want that.

Fair enough, but if they wanted really strong lines of demarcation, they wouldn't play Stand Back either. There are other ways to keep audience interest. There's always at least one Stevie-sung FM hit that goes unplayed while SB remains in the set. Also, I would be curious what the rationale is for including Go Insane . Does it serve a function that other Lindsey songs do not?

Oh, I know the preference is for FM deep cuts, and as I said I wasn't necessarily advocating for solo songs. But I personally wouldn't equate solo songs with covers. Maybe some Ledgies would, but I would much rather hear a fresh solo hit by any of them than a cover of another band's song.

Yeah, that's not a possibility. Something to argue about, I suppose, but nothing that's going to happen.

FM doesn't have a lot of dance songs, especially not ones that people know. I would be fine if they used EFO, but the bulk of the audience would not. They don't see another way to keep the audience interest other than Stand Back. They think smacking it together with two Lindsey songs creates a huge reaction.


As for Go Insane, the rationale was that Lindsey put Big Love and Go Insane together in his solo set and it got a big reaction, so he strung them together for FM, figuring if it's not broke, don't fix it. He put those together with Sardonic World, because he was satisfied with the way it all went together solo, but FM dropped Go Insane years ago and I don't anticipate them bringing it back. So, it seems like a moot issue.

I kinda wish they'd do Hypnotized with Stevie singing. I know that'll probably never happen, but it seems like it could be an appropriate tribute to Bob Welch, and Lindsey does a version of Oh Well sometimes, so why not? My feeling is it would be better than another jesus-kabillion renditions of Landslide. I would at least approve of a small shakeup of the setlist, doesn't have to necessarily include anything from the new (or an old) Stevie solo record.
