Being the huge Lindsey fan you are, you should understand that no one falls into a simple set of labels Yet your so anniment that everyone on this board has to be a fan of just one band member.

i have no clue what "anniment" means.

but no, although many have clear preferences, i don't see that everyone on this board is a fan of just one band member, or just the band as a whole.

sometimes simplifying things works well to make a point, and there's no deeper meaning . depending on people's biases and moods, they can take the point of the post, or they can dissect it and make it to mean something that it was never supposed to.

either way, don't think that taking any life or philosophy lessons from LB is a good idea.

peace!

I get all my philosophy from fleetwood back. I save all their quotes and arrange them by band member, to sort of create a Mac bible. The book of John is the shortest book in the bible, barely filling a whole page, but like the actual bible, I'd say the book of John is the most important. The books of Stevie and Lindsey take up 80 percent of the bible considering they never shut up. You can especially get lost in the book of Stevie. And the book of Lindsey can just flat out put you to sleep at times. I recommend skipping the cycles chapter, just keeps repeating!

disclaimer: I didn't actually do this in case anyone thinks I did

I bet Michele has a dewy decimal system for her quotes. And basically, I'm jealous if she does.

I actually love how a lot of people are creating manufactured drama. It's very entertaining -- sort of like having to look at the covers of tabloids in the grocery store check out line.

If Stevie had nothing going on with all of the awards and her own solo project, I can assure you she wouldn't be hanging around the studio all day while Christine and Lindsey work out their songs. She has never done that before and there's no reason to expect her to do it now.
One of the joys of not being a musician in Fleetwood Mac is the freedom it gives her to not be stuck in a studio for 10 hours a day.

I don't have an actual direct source, but I know people who are in the Village a few times a month for live radio broadcasts; and from their perspective, they hear nothing but a celebratory mood coming from the Fleetwood Mac rooms.
I truly think all is well in the Fleetwood Mac camp.
If anything, there is a "time running out" feeling and I think Stevie has been trying to stay as active as possible for the past 3 years or so.
I would worry less about internal drama and more about their continued health and stamina for the upcoming tour.

I honestly don't care what's going on with them personally, because I know that no matter what happens, they have committed to an album and a tour - and That's Enough For Me.

Christine and Lindsey had no choice but to work on their own songs. They've never said they had no use for Stevie and that they wouldn't have worked on Stevie's songs given the option. They certainly made it clear they would've liked her to be there. What probably happens is Christine and Lindsey don't write as many songs together as they did because they spend some time on Stevie. Stevie's absence might be what makes this a double album if they end up going that route because they have so much material and maybe that's a worthy trade off for expeditiousness (that's a word, right?). And it's not that Stevie needs to be there all the time, but there's certainly no mandate that said they had to spend two months exclusively on Christine and Lindsey songs or that she couldn't help them with the vocals on their songs. I think it's illogical to think that's the case.

That's all great and yes from all accounts even in their interviews they are having a great time making new music.....without Stevie. I don't think anyone was saying otherwise unless I missed it. I don't think even if they were frustrated by Stevie's absence that it has to bring a pall over the proceedings.

Agreed - and that's also why I think she's decided to release an album of old songs that haven't been released before. Time is running out.

As I said in another thread - She won't live forever, and if she's wanted to get these songs out to the world - it's time to do it *now*. Time flies, and someday Stevie won't be around to finish her own songs. Perhaps the thought of some stranger taking artistic liberties with her demos for the benefit of label execs looking for a posthumous Christmas bonus has lit some fire under her. Her dad died. Her mom died. Chris has had health issues. She has no children of her own - no one to protect her legacy other than her niece. She's got to do it now if she wants it done her way.

I was just wondering that myself...Look at what is happening with all the unfinished/unreleased Michael Jackson songs... I wonder how Stevie would feel about someone finishing her old songs just to make a quick buck or worse turning them into some kind of collaboration with whatever pop star is the flavor of the month at the time...Can you imagine a new "Stevie" record featuring the Miley's, Taylor's, & Justin's of 15 years from now on her songs without her input...

But it's this very reason that I wish she would return to the band and work with them. They're all older and time is running out for all of them. I would have loved to have seen her say, "you know what? I'm going to give this precious time to the band that allowed me to build my career as a famous musician." But, hey, I get why her fans are psyched for a new 100% Stevie record.

Aren't those rooms sound proof?

I'm guessing the word was intended to be "adamant"

They may be in the minority but there must be people that aren't fans of FM but they like the solo work of a specific band member...
