I don't think they'll halt work while shopping labels, quite the contrary. If the Destiny Rules documentary is true to life & linear, the band had been recording Say You Will for months when they started shopping labels. They needed material to sell to labels, and they kept on working while that bidding process panned out. I think the band has to be on their best behavior during the vetting phase if they expect to get a palatable deal, which I fully expect them to do.

^^^^and even if they don't go with Warner's, I doubt they would have difficulty getting a label to release it.

true... but SYW took a long time to record. and labels have business agendas and pecking order which artists' work they want to put out when, i would think, they wouldn't just release the album when it's done.

what could they expect from the label? publicity / marketing for one, which they obviously do extremely sloppily on their own... i guess they have to weigh pros and cons.

Is there any real proof, other than pics of guitars and Micks equipment trunks that they ARE in the studio right now? Cuz I'm not sold with that alone.

If so, a simple, effective marketing thing to do would be to tweet, fb, whatever, a photo or comment once a week about how things are going. It would definitely get the fans excited not to mention the word out. Plus, it's FREE.

But what do I know.

I feel like with this band there are just too many cooks in the kitchen.

No one is on social media on behalf of the band because everyone and their handlers would want a say about what could be said or not said, how it should be said, when it should be said etc.

It's fine for them to have teams of advisors for their solo stuff but there should be a dedicated team that is Fleetwood Mac only. Never gonna happen.

So as usual nothing gets done because of, as Lindsey says, the political situation within/around the band.

"Let's tweet that we're recording and include a picture!" "No, I don't want a picture" "A picture is fine but I don't like that picture, I want a different picture" "I don't think we should tweet anything just yet" and etc etc etc.
