You nailed it.

A world class malcontent. He'd bitch if you cooked him breakfast in bed, with an 18yo virgin as dessert.

I thought it was a GREAT book, one of the best rock autobiographies in a long time!

I remember Stevie making the comment around the time she was dating Don (or shortly there after) that Glenn was a "very dark" individual, and that she didn't particularly like being around him.

The same thing happened with Karla Bonoff....Frey was going to produce her third album. After around a month of working together, she went back to Kenny Edwards...she said she "felt uncomfortable" around him!

When you look at it from that angle, now who's the a**hole?

If you're the star of the band, you're gonna get more. It might not be fair, but life ain't fair...
Why the need to imply that making more money makes Stevie (or anyone, for that matter) an a**hole? Anyone in a position to make more money is a fool not to take advantage of it, especially if it's rightfully earned.

Greedy a**holes take advantage of others, with no sense of fairness and ethics. I don't believe Stevie has that character. However, besides being an artist, she is a business woman. Those jerks in the Eagles lack Stevie's integrity and class.

I was merely pointing out the similarities between the apparent disdain for Henley/Frey demanding more money, and STEVIE ALSO DEMANDING MORE MONEY. I never called her an a**hole. You inferred that, based upon a question. Everyone apparently thinks that "they're" (H/Frey) a**holes for taking more money, and I was only pointing out the similarity, between them and the beloved glitter farting queen of FM, doing the exact same thing.

I agree with this. Business is one thing, and character is another. Stevie getting a larger percentage of the touring profits benefits Stevie and her management, so naturally her management went for it, knowing that no one could really argue with it too much. Someone of lesser character might use their star power to demand to have the most songs in the setlist or on the CD, or for one of their songs to open the show or the album. I don't think Stevie would ever do this (and if she has tried, she wasn't successful).

*devil's advocate*
So do you really think it's different with Don/Glenn?
Stevie's fans never cease to amaze me, in their adulation.

My glasses aren't that rose-colored, and for the most part I think I was agreeing with you that you can't always expect everybody to get paid the same, whether in a rock band, my office, or anywhere else. MY point was that Don and Glenn may be a**holes, and many people seem to be convinced that they are, but their larger cut of the tour proceeds isn't proof of that. Lack of character would show in other ways.
