I also think they do things to joke around with each other - like the chase at the end of GYOW - something one or the other just may not be into one night so one tries it and then drops it when the other doesn't respond. But, I do think they test run certain things & know what is visually appealing, that's just professional.

Yeah, like with Landslide when she would stand in back of him. She embraced him sometimes and then she would play the piano on his shoulder and then he decided he would just lean back and see if she would support his weight and she would. But I think there are some nights, if he knew she was mad at him that maybe it wouldn't be so wise for him to lean back and assume she wouldn't let him fall.

Exactly. She has said what they do onstage just sort of depends on their mood or what happened that day. For all we know, Lindsey could have ticked her off by standing in the doorway asking her how long it was gonna take her to fix her hair because the crickets had started. LOL.

I think most people know their onstage antics are scripted. I mean, it's pretty obvious when things are scripted, because they're doing it at every single show. Now why people start reading into what they're doing onstage, I don't know. I don't see what the harm is in discussing their relationship. We all know Lindsey is happily married (he says so in pretty much every interview he gives) and that Stevie is happily single and they're never going to get back together. As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing going on behind the scenes or onstage that his wife would have anything to worry about. They are two people who were once romantically involved who have been musically involved for 40+ years--things are never going to be "normal." And like Lindsey says, they are playing characters up there onstage. You know what, I'm going to shut up and just post some Lindsey quotes, because I think he says it better than I can.

"There's a subtext of love between us, and it would be hard to deny that much of what we've accomplished had something to do with trying to prove something to each other.Maybe that's ****ed up, but this is someone I've known since I was 16, and I think on some weird level we're still trying to work some things out. There will never be romance there, but there are other kinds of love to be had."

And my personal favorite:

It was, whether people could identify it or not, this idea that under less than ideal circumstances, in fact, under quite emotionally challenging and painful circumstances, that we were able to somehow summon up the strength to rise above that and to sort of follow through on what we needed to do fulfill our destiny, if you want to call it that. And so the subtext of “Rumours” becomes not the soap opera part so much as that it was an act of will and that has continued. Where reality stops and where the role begins, it’s a little fuzzy in there, you know.

Interviewer: So not just for us, but for you two too?

Lindsey: For us too! Yeah, and I think that’s appropriate and I don’t know how it could really be any other way because of how it began, you know.


So the way I see it: they have a long, complicated history together, but the romance is over. Instead, they've gotten to a place where they can actually get along and look back on all they have accomplished together musically. They actually have the opportunity--now that they are both at better places in their personal lives--to be friends and have fun making music together. And THAT'S what gives me the warm fuzzies. Not their onstage antics or pretend romance or whatever crap the shippers are blabbing on about () Just the fact that they are getting along and are going to hopefully continue to make more incredibly awesome music for us all to enjoy.

Sure you do! That's as old as time. Intrigue. Mystery. Sex. The stir of emotions makes tongues wag.

The truth is it used to be a topic that started wars. It's not really welcome. Honestly, there are about as many opinions on it as there are members. Not everyone agrees with every little aspect and it makes people very upset. And threads get usurped. And feathers get ruffled. And people leave. And really, what difference does it make what people think? If they are acting out their roles, then wouldn't that be our role as well to think there might be something there? Aren't we expected to choose a side in the war of the star crossed lovers who can never ever ever be together again? Although, I heard that the war is pretty good lately.

I think Lindsey was doing something like that in that old tour clip. I think he was begging her and Robin to hurry up and finish putting up her hair bun, so they could get on stage.
