She looks over to Lindsey and says she knows he is bored of this story. He demurs and says he's not bored. He loves this story. Anyway, her friend found the song on Youtube in 2010 and she asked Lindsey if he remembered the song and he said he did. She said, they should do it then and he said ok.

She says it's the kind of sound that attracted Mick to them, but she said that Lindsey reminded her, on stage, in front of 16,000 people (16,000 Stevie? What venue was that?) that Mick was never attracted to them. He was looking for a lead guitar player and nowhere in his ad for a "lead guitar player" were the words "and his girlfriend" included.

Then, Lindsey goes up to his mic and Stevie, now used to the interruption, tells him to go on and tell the story. He says that he just wants to say that what FM didn't realize was that they needed a brilliant singer as well. She thanks him for saying that.

So, she says Mick let her join the group and so did Chris -- but Chris is only here in spirit, she explains. Then, I think Stevie does mention John McVie, but Lindsey goes over to her mic and puts his arm around her and says, "don't forget John McVie." Stevie says, of course, John McVie. They all turn towards John.

She says that this is the honest truth. When they got the call from Mick and she went out and bought all of the FM albums and listened to them she said, "what a great bass player." She again swears this is the truth -- though neither I nor John have ever heard her say such a thing in the last 38 years. John bows his head in thanks. Yeah Stevie, if you'd flattered him that way in 1975 maybe he would have let you put another song on the album in place of Crystal!

Love it. Reminds me of the review from the final Unleashed show when the Gypsy intro became one of her endless, rambling tales and Lindsey went to her mic. Too cute.

I'm not sure his shirt is blue, I think it's black but it's been washed so many times it's faded. Lindsey, please go shopping and get some new shirts!

I like when Linds gets more dressed up...I'm a little tired of the leather jacket, V-neck tee and levi's uniform. Didn't he wear a suit for one or two shows earlier in the tour? He needs to go back to that. He looks more distinguished in a suit.

He wore a suit coat at Mohegan Sun, with either black pants or jeans. It was a nice look, I would love it if he wore it more often

No, it wasn't a faded black shirt that gets sort of gray or off-black and dingy. It was definitely blue. Even if you washed blue accidentally with black and the colors ran, I don't think you'd get such a true, consistent blue color. It was rather a rich blue, not navy, just a shade or two darker than denim.

Great show!
We had a really fun time. Our seats were originally in the 7th row, but some drunk dude in the 4th row had friends in the 7th and asked us to switch, so we obliged. I brought Stevie a belated birthday gift with me and planned to give it to either Karen or Kelly Ann when I saw them on stage adjusting Stevie's stuff before the show. I saw Kelly Ann. She was adjusting the tilt of Stevie's monitor. I waited for her over at the side and when she was done I called out her name and she kind of looked around like, who's calling me? She saw me and walked over. I told her I saw her in the documentary and that I loved her dancing. She kind of laughed, rolling her eyes embarrassed and said "Oh God - thanks!" I asked her if she could please give Stevie this belated birthday gift. (I got her a little Khaleesi stauette from Game of Thrones. It even has a little dragon on her shoulder.) I wrapped it in clear celophane so she could see what it was. When she took and looked at it I told her it was Khaleesi and she goes, "Oh my God- that is so cute! She will LOVE it!" I said, I hope so and thanked her. She then took it backstage with her. Mission accomplished.
I put a little note card with the gift explaining to Stevie I picked it up for her because of it reminding me of the question I asked her at the LA Q&A regarding Game of Thrones. I also said that I hope she knows that like Khaleesi's faithful dragons, her fans will be behind her no matter what.

The show was so fun. Lindsey made this funny, cute face right at me at the end of The Chain - made me laugh. They sounded great, but there were I think 2 times where Stevie had a little squeak to her voice, so I hope nothing serious. Silver Springs wasn't dropped so that's a good sign. I got some pretty decent video on my flip camera that I will upload and post here later. I am currently typing this at the hotel business computer.

^What a unique and thoughtful present. It was a dragonless Sunday night so that will definitely help with the withdrawal pangs.

You made such a mark on Kelly that I'm sure she'll relay the entire message to Stevie.

It brings home the fact that many conclusions I form may be completely illusory. I think they they make conscious choices to repeat something or deviate from it (like removing that guitar part in Rhiannon) when in reality they may never have considered the question at all.

I imagined a conversation where they were discussing whether or not Lindsey should sing on SOTM the way he has in the past and it probably never even came up between them, because Lindsey has no memory of singing SOTM live in the past. Period. So, so much for me guessing what goes on behind the scenes.

I meant to mention that after the Without Love vocals, I think, both Lindsey and Stevie moved towards Mick and they kind of finished the song together that way. I thought it was lovely, not only because it brought the introduction to the song in which all of them participated full circle, but because it reminded me of the past, like SYLM from The Dance or Tusk when Christine, John and Lindsey would all huddle together while playing.

When they are in physical proximity during a song, they feel more like a group. It's heartwarming.
