I think they clearly had the wrong producer for BTM. Some of those songs would have been great with a different presentation. "Save Me", for instance, has good lyrics, a good melody, and a killer guitar solo. But they put in a bunch of annoying things NOT relevant to the song. They forgot the "less is more" mantra of Peter Green, and it sounds like it was a very corporate-driven album.

I'd add to your list:
Empire State
Ricky
Silver Girl
Family Man

I really dig "Empire State" and "Sugar Daddy". "Family Man" and "Welcome to the Room" however, I won't defend.

Forgotten songs???
Well, we mentioned some of them lot of times here on the board, but we know they're the forgotten...
My list: (only from the Rumours era?)

- Sugar Daddy & Oh Daddy
- Can't Go Back
- That's Alright (not sure; we mentioned it lot of times because it's from the Buckingham Nicks years)
- Book Of Love
- Only Over You
- Empire State
- Straight Back
- Wish You Were Here
- Tango In The Night??
- Mystified
- Family Man
- When I see you again
- You & I, part II
- Miranda
- Silver Girl & Sweet Girl
- and Everybody Finds Out, come on!!!!!!!

As you can see, lot of songs from Mirage.
Not sure about the Tusk songs.
And now I'm thinking about the pre-Rumours era songs!
Regards!

Here's THE most forgotten Fleetwood Mac song ever. I bet the band's even forgot about it. It needs to be recorded.

Baby It's Alright Now

I see nobody's mentioned "Caroline" yet. I think it's brilliant the way it segues into "Tango in the Night." It'd be awesome to witness that combo live.

Many of us would be more than happy to see Tango in the Night included in the setlist. It could be a perfect replacement of I'm so afraid (love it, too, but it needs a break).
Problem is that "Tango" guitar solo is basically "I'm So Afraid" in different packaging. Not getting much on the change if that's the song that replaces it in my opinion.

Family Man - LOVE this song.
Honey Hi - I adore the harmonies in this.
Love Is Dangerous
In the Back of My Mind
Heart of Stone - Should've been a single.
That's Alright
Illume - One of my favourite FM songs, it's so mystical and enchanting.
Caroline
Freedom
Temporary One

I'd have to say that there are probably worse songs than Jane EVER recorded by anyone associated with Fleetwood Mac. There are some pretty bad ones by the lesser members. Try the couple of Donovan's Brain albums that feature Dave Walker, Frog Prince by Billy Burnette, or pretty much anything that was re-recorded by Bob Welch in his later years or indeed try "Bob Welch Sings the Best Songs Ever".

For the Rumours Era though, I think you can't go past Lizard People in terms of being not only forgotten (thankfully) but also terrible! I'd add Cool Water to being a close second!

I think "Warm Ways" is one of FM's most underrated & best "forgotten" song. It's such a beautiful song, and never gets any love.

It's funny to me how many people people dislike this song~ as can be seen in the "song elimination" thread. It was actually one of my first Mac loves, I used to listen to it every night before bed.

Stevemac, what a great find! I didn't know that existed and I love the early 70's rollicking Christine McVie sound.

As a "forgotten" song, I'm going for my favourite, Over and Over which I think is the tune that best displays the talents of the fab 5, everything is just perfect about this song, but it gets overshadowed by its Rumours counterparts.

musically it's lovely, though the lyric "you made me a woman tonight" was always a tad cringe-
worthy
