You're not a loon! I remember reading that somewhere too - she spoke to him after he had left and things had cooled down, asked if he wanted to go back to being BNs and he refused. We can't both be imagining that

Could this be what you're both remembering? This is from a 1987 article in Creem magazine, though, while they were promoting 'Tango.' Not after Lindsey's departure. (The full article can be found in the Blue Letter Archives.)

Lindsey says he’d also like to work with Laurie Anderson, and mentions that Stevie was recently asking him on the phone if he’d like to do another Buckingham/Nicks album.

His voice becomes more pensive than usual, which is getting pretty pensive. "You just don’t usually have to do that sort of thing-to break up with someone and then see them for the next 12 years. That’s just not normal…it’s not even very well. It’s sort of an ill thing to have to do, but what the hell."

That seems to be the same incident, but I actually don't think I've ever read that article before. I specifically remember Stevie talking about it and saying that she knew Lindsey wasn't happy, called him up, asked if he wanted her to leave the band and they could be Buckingham Nicks again, etc.

I've been trying to find where I read it/saw it but I just can't seem to find it... I believe it was a video.

But at least this somewhat proves that I didn't entirely make it up haha. I just wish I knew where/when it was that Stevie also mentioned it.
