Mick was burning out badly on coke, losing everything he owned, etc. I don't think John was sober yet then either, and I know Chris wasn't. Concurrently, I think Lindsey was beginning to wind down from his substance abuse years, he had ridded himself of the infamous Carol Ann Harris, and on some level it had to be hard to witness Stevie's deterioration. If you love someone once, a tiny piece of that always remains... even if you don't end amicably.
No, I think Stevie was telling the truth about Tango production and why it was so frustrating for Lindsey. And I think Mick's craziness was reaching a peak too. Mick has always said as much, that the way he was then scared Lindsey and Lindsey thought he was going to get pulled down by Mick. He definitely didn't feel that he was getting much creative work done.

Whether it's true that Lindsey was worried about Stevie dying, I don't know --especially since she said he tried to kill her himself that day. He was going to murder her and she had to rely on Chris and Jess to avenge their tragic loss.

Still, from what he has said about seeing her at BTM in 1990, by that time he was clearly freaked out by how far gone she was. Michele

What Stevie's saying regarding Lindsey quitting is quite possibly close to the truth, it's just how she words things that kills me- "His beloved ex-girlfriend was not going to die. She was going to make it."

Aside from the fact that she's referring to herself in third person, it reads like the back cover of a teen romance novel.

Also, interesting to hear Lindsey say that they recorded Without You from scratch. I guess they completely re-did the arrangement (which is probably not a bad thing :P).

I also think she's hitting closer to home than usual. She's alluded to it before, but here she just came out with it. When she said in the Don't Stop doc that it was really hard on Lindsey during TITN, I got the impression she was talking about more than just her missing the recording sessions. And, I've always thought there was more to that fight at Christine's anyway - those are not the kind of arguments you have with someone you haven't been involved with for 10 years. Also, Lindsey being worried in '87 - he had to have been heartsick by the time 1990 rolled around. Debbie met him around then and he talked to her about Stevie and how worried he was about her -because she didn't even recognize his family at the shows. So, I don't think Stevie was being as overly dramatic as she usually tends to be.

Well, didn't Stevie at one point say something about having the feeling Lindsey wasn't happy within FM and calling him up to ask if he wanted to be Buckingham Nicks again? But he denied and said he was fine, or something.... that being part of the reason it personally offended her so much when he then turned around and quit?

Or I could have imagined that whole scenario. I can't remember where I've heard most of the things I have stored in my memory lol.

LOL. Ok, I don't remember reading that one! I do know she said part of the reasoning behind her attacking him that day was because of the guilt she felt for not leaving FM - that they had some kind of agreement to do FM until they had enough exposure to go back to BN and it got so huge and with the personal issues, that agreement sort of tanked.

I remember that too, but the thing I'm talking about is a little different. I swear I didn't just make it up.

I mean, I could have. But I don't generally just spontaneously fabricate details in my head like that haha. I just wish I could find wherever I read it/heard it/saw it.

I hope someone else comes forward who remembers it too so I don't feel like a complete loon.

No worries... and if you did I'd just start calling you Stevie.

You're not a loon! I remember reading that somewhere too - she spoke to him after he had left and things had cooled down, asked if he wanted to go back to being BNs and he refused. We can't both be imagining that

I never heard him talk about this. Can you enlighten me? Was this in the press?

No. In the press Lindsey said that Stevie told him that the stuff in Mick's book wasn't true. He didn't say he was worried about her.
