and according to the most recent news Mick just flew from Maui to LAX... so maybe Christine is visiting LA and not HI after all?

So it's possible it's not just a vacation. Hmm... the plot thickens!

Could it be related to the Sound City thing at the end of the month? It would be really cool for the Rumours 5 to be reunited at an event like that.

Saw them during Say You Will and vowed to never see another show again. Just not the same for me without Christine. The reason I love the band, is the combination of all of them. Now if Chris comes back (I'm actually starting to think something fishy is going on) I'll be there in a heartbeat. Hey she was in retirement but then got bored and did In the Meantime. People change their minds all the time in life and especially the retirement/breakup world of Rock. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I quite agree and would love it if Christine were to come back to perform live or record. But read that Mojo interview which she gave late last year. There is no trace there of any desire whatsoever to return to the fray.

I agree that the timing of this visit seems 'fishy', but if she does fly over (and we've only Mick's word that she might plan to do so and, with respect, he's said stuff before that has turned out to have been rather pre-emptive or just plain confused) I can only imagine it would be to catch up with old friends. She has made it so clear she doesn't want to be pulled back into touring, which I think she would fear if she even did so much as lay down some backing vocals on a new track.

My instinct tells me that (a) she may not even fly over, and (b) if she does, it will be strictly as a non-band member who wants to see her friends. All that said, I would be delighted to hear that she helped with a track or two.

Chris going out on a full tour would surprise me, given her feelings on touring -- but stranger things have happened!
What I'm hoping for most is that she'll record a couple of new songs with the band. That prospect has me really excited.

(BTW, I tried to reply to your PM but your inbox is full. I saved my message, so just let me know and I'll re-send it. )

Well I don't know, but it's more of a reason than just wanting to visit Mick, who will be in England in a few short months. If she was ever going to come back and visit, she might as well pick a time when she can get as much bang for the buck as possible.

And if she just wanted to visit Mick and John, why do it smack dab in the middle of the BUSIEST period in their lives? Why didn't she do it during the down time they've had over the last 3 years? This timing does not make sense for a "visit."

seems like there are new photos of Mick at LAX today, leaving. so seems like Christine will go visit HI and not LA after all, which would mean no recording

I don't think it would be a 3 full days visit with her friends, maybe just and evening, and I think they may be free for few hours. So it does make sense to me.

We are assuming her travel is exclusively to visit M&J. I'm not sure about that. And according to the "she hates to fly!" theory, probably she is traveling for additional important reasons too.

And visiting the whole band (or at least Lindsey too) would imply recording intentions. Just Mick and John actually doesn't make me think she wants to record.

I think we are speculating too much, of course because we wish music with the 5 members lineup. It's like when Paul and John met in NYC in the 70s. Lot of legends, but nothing happened.

if that was gonna happen wouldn't DG use it to advertise his event? right now Fogerty and SN are his top of the ticket and people have already heard about how the Sundance show went so would know what to expect. wouldn't completely reunited Rumuors-era FM (or even the current 4-piece FM instead of just SN representing FM) be a huge thing to advertise?

Hi everyone,
This is from Planet Rock

Here is The Link

Planet Rock can exclusively reveal that Mick Fleetwood is trying to persuade Christine McVie to re-join Fleetwood Mac.

McVie retired from the band in the late 1990’s and hasn’t performed with them since.

He also confirmed that Fleetwood Mac will announce the European leg of their forthcoming world tour in the coming weeks.

Mick told Planet Rock’s Darren Redick, "I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with my sister, Christine McVie, and that’s sort of a lovely, nice thing to be doing. Getting her out of the English cold there for a few weeks ...and me and Chris will be flying back [to Mick’s home in Hawaii] after my work in London”.

Darren asked Mick if Christine would be with them for their shows in the UK and Mick went on to say, "I would love that and I would welcome that as we all would and I truly hope that happens. And it might just be the case and I will take that to the fore and be reminded that a lot of people would love to see that happen. It would be an emotionally charged moment that would be lovely to have happen. And I know everyone in the band would welcome that. So you never know!”.

As far as the world tour goes, Fleetwood Mac look likely to be in England by the autumn. Mick said, "We’re going to be touring in September and October in England and in Europe, we’re going on a massive world tour, which is getting more massive by the second, and those shows will be announced in the next few days”.
