Seems like mostly the same band to me.
But you know even Dave Mason said he felt like he was in a cover band.

For the live shows, absolutely. However, they played like maybe one show after the album's release, so there was really no point in playing a bunch of songs that weren't available. I was frustrated that I had to wait a month for "Dreaming The Dream" back in 1995. Ideally, in a ten to twelve song set, they should have done no more than three or four old Mac songs and one old Mason song and focus the rest of the set on new material, but why bother with no album out?

The band that released "Time" more resembled the band that had to fight to use its name than the current version of Fleetwood Mac. The core of the band -Mick, John, and Christine- was the same in 1995 as it was in 1971. That's why I've never gotten this "I don't consider [Time] a 'real' Fleetwood Mac album" schtick. Really? So, "Future Games", "Bare Trees", "Penguin", "Mystery To Me", and "Heroes Are Hard To Find" weren't "real" Fleetwood Mac albums?
