http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=45300 ...and here compared to the other Rumours era winners, Thrown Down only had one vote! http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=45364 Of course all but one or two of those songs are now deemed hits and aren't in this contest, so perhaps Thrown Down and Steal Your Heart Away have a chance in this contest... ![]() |

Oy, the fact that SYHA was on that Best Buy CD years ago kind of annoys me.
Do people even throw down barricades? Sure, they get knocked down during riots and stampedes, but . . . When I sing this song aloud I always say, "thrown down, like a hurricane." I really love the "shaken your faith" part. And her answer to me is "No, you haven't shaken my faith in you, nothing can do that. You've shaken my faith in the rest of the world and all of the beliefs I'd held dear." This reminds me of the You May Be The One line. He says he sees no fear in her eyes and she says "tell me another lie" and it's like an entire conversation. In my head, the male is kind of manipulating her feelings, play with her emotions to keep the protagonist in the relationship. So, he goes for guilt and says he's so afraid of losing her, but obviously she doesn't care about losing him. This means nothing to her, because, he claims, there's no fear in her eyes. She answers, "tell me another lie," because she knows, he knows, she's afraid and vulnerable. I love it. I love the type of lyrics you can build a world around. Michele |

If you are Stevie Nicks and you are singing on stage and you look down at an excited male in the audience trying his drunken best to get closer to you, you watch him throw down that barricade in order to jump on that stage.
