I would give them my Singles playlist.

If you are looking at pre Stevie/Lindsay, I think you need Why and Spare Me a Little. Maybe you use the live Why with Stevie and Lindsay.
I think you do include some Buckingham Nicks like Frozen Love, Without a Leg to Stand On and Crying in the Night. You know the popular singles. If you wanted a sample of non hit songs then White Album - World Turning Rumours - I Don't Wanna Know Tusk - Sisters of the Moon, Beautiful Child, Stroms, Angel, I Know I'm Not Wrong Tango - Caroline, Isn't it Midnight Say You Will - Thrown Down, Bleed to Love Her, Steal Your Heart Away, Everybody Find Out |

Honestly? If I wanted to really win somebody over to the Mac, I would just hand 'em a copy of the "Tusk" album. It has enough of the Mac's pop brilliance combined with some of their best album tracks. You'll never hear "Angel" or "I Know I'm Not Wrong" or "brown eyes" anywhere else, that's for sure - and these are great songs! Tusk is really the album to prove to people that Fleetwood Mac were not just a glossy "soft-rock" stereotype. Plus it has some of Lindsey and Stevie's best songs - "Storms" in my opinion is really under-rated, and superior to Landslide, which is so overplayed and over-covered I could shoot myself, "The Ledge" is one of Lindsey's coolest rockers ever... great record!
And maybe pair it with a live show (bootleg!) from the same era, to mix in live versions of the Rumours and White album fare, which always sound very different, and very fresh in live versions from that era. If you haven't explored fleetwood mac live bootlegs, DEFINITELY DO. I knew a guy who hated Fleetwood Mac and literally did a total 180 after hearing the Sydney, Australia Show from the tusk tour (A+ sound!). Frankly, there is not one single live track from "The Dance" or something like that that you can't find something WAAAAAAY better and more impressive from the live 1975-1982 era. |
