However it is a bit ridiculous/amusing the extremes that they categorize each other in depending on those situations, as you insinuated. When they see each other for a one-off sort of thing, they've rekindled, their relationship has been rejuvenated, they're closer than they have been since the day they met at a Young Life meeting. But put them in a room together for more than a week and they sing a completely different tune. Too much of a good thing, I suppose.

Are you sure? Mick is asking for a tour, not for any new music. As I pointed out in my post in the Rumours forum (the one which led you to direct me here), he wants to go out and rehash the old hits, and that kind of Fleetwood Mac tour doesn't offer anything to Stevie fans.....we get Dreams, Rhiannon, and Landslide either way. With a solo tour, we'll also get some awesome new IYD tracks. If Mick wants Fleetwood Mac to live eternally, he has to get them to do something interesting, and another Unleashed tour isn't it.

Stevie writes her lyrics and her melodies-- It IS music. The lyrics and the melody are the heart of a song. The melody is the identifiable tune of the song that you hum and everyone recognizes as Dreams or Gypsy or Landslide or whatever. That's why she gets credit for words and music. What she doesn't do is arrange her music in a way that fleshes it out from a solo piano piece to a full band arrangement-- i.e. writing the accompanying, complementary drum/guitar/bass parts. But guess what ? Very few writers do.... That's what producers and arrangers do, and every single band uses one. That's what Jimmy Iovine did for Petty, what John Landau did for Springsteen, what George Martin did for the Beatles, what Rob Cavallo and RIchard Dashut have done with Lindsey. When other people send her a musical track, she writes a melody and lyrics to that as well.

I don't think they are on bad terms right now at all. I think Stevie is more concerned that would happen in doing an album. And, possibly Lindsey is not interested in touring without one? I could see him not wanting to do another 'hits only' tour. Maybe with Stevie doing new material she's getting more accustomed to the feel and will embrace new FM possibilities.

I'm surprised that Mick is being so candid, but in the end, Stevie loves him and she's not really inclined to fight with him -- as she is with other people. She'll stay mad with him about as long as she can throw him.

Next month this time he'll probably be giving interviews kissing her feet. I guess what he wants from this passive/agressive commentary is some kind of firm commitment from her for 2013 and I suppose he'll get it.

They all probably get along like cookies and milk, like cheese and fries all the time, they just do this **** to get us worked up into a tizzy. They're reading all this, laughing their asses off and have a whiteboard on a wall titled "whose fault they think it is". John's the only on with no check marks by his name.
