Stevie, go and get your tour on (even if it is with Rusty Rod) and beat the s*** out of that record if you have to - you deserve it. Maybe Stevie, like the fans, wants something new and fresh to look forward to as well, and isn't crazy about touring with the same troop playing the same songs. She finally has something new on the go. Fleetwood Mac just shouldn't tour again until they record some new stuff. And if they never record again, they'll all still be kicking in 2013 or 2014 - have a reunion tour then. You cant call it a reunion tour if you were all onstage together just three years ago. What's new about that?!? Apologies for the epic, there. Last edited by TakenByTheSky23; 03-15-2012 at 10:48 AM.. |

New Mac Album > New Mac Tour > Stevie Solo Tour
They all's priorities is wack.

No apologies necessary. It was said perfectly. Mic needs to save his money, buy a trailer and move to Florida. Mama can tour with Rod, Tom, Don, Peter , Paul and Mary if she wants to. She's happy on these tours but she looks like she's just going through the motions on the FM tours. If she should decide to tour again Stevie should sit those boys down (lindsey Mic and John) and tell them how SHE wants it to go down. She holds the power and she no longer needs to babysit Lindsey and his ego. |

No one was saying anything bad about Lindsey in this thread. Now if you someone came in defending Mick, maybe I could understand. But what's more ridiculous than excessive bashing is excessive defensiveness, especially when it is unfounded.
I love EVERYONE. I just wish they would all stop talking bad about each other in the press, and get these things worked out behind closed doors. If asked about plans for FM to tour, all Mick had to say was, "Nothing is concrete yet. I hope we do, but we have to get everyone's schedules on the same page first." Which basically sums up to the same conclusion as we got from what he actually said, but with a lot less fighting words!

I was hinting that Stevie had to ask Lindsey to help out to soothe his ego after praising Dave in public so much. I totally think she did that on purpose. A little love tap from the damsel in distress. He ran right over. Huge ego trip. ![]() ![]() |

Has everyone's blood pressure risen up today? Reading this thread tonight has been so fascinating to me and fun. I love the way elle
can write a few words and really stir up the pot. In the words of KC and the sunshine band: Keep it coming love.![]() |

Stevie writes her lyrics and her melodies-- It IS music. The lyrics and the melody are the heart of a song. The melody is the identifiable tune of the song that you hum and everyone recognizes as Dreams or Gypsy or Landslide or whatever. That's why she gets credit for words and music. What she doesn't do is arrange her music in a way that fleshes it out from a solo piano piece to a full band arrangement-- i.e. writing the accompanying, complementary drum/guitar/bass parts. But guess what ? Very few writers do.... That's what producers and arrangers do, and every single band uses one. That's what Jimmy Iovine did for Petty, what John Landau did for Springsteen, what George Martin did for the Beatles, what Rob Cavallo and RIchard Dashut have done with Lindsey. When other people send her a musical track, she writes a melody and lyrics to that as well.

Have you any clue the amount of greatness this man has done WITHOUT any input whatsoever from Stevie? Probably not, because it's all Stevie stars in your eyes. Anyone else, especially Lindsey, is just a side man. And that's too bad.

Lindsey is a true talent and has given shape to most of Stevie's great songs but if you don't think that man has ego issues then you have drank the Kool Aid |

I just plainly do not agree with this "babysitting Lindsey's ego" stuff and I will speak up for it. I know very well he has an ego. Stevie does as well. Anyone who is in show business for a long enough time and had to endure highs and lows has one. But people use this far too much with Lindsey. You are not being balanced whatsoever. It's like you're basically saying: Stevie did him a favor by making the album and supporting it and performing live. She made sacrifices for him, the ego-maniac who totally depends on HER to stroke his ego. And that is false. Lindsey forges ahead with or without Stevie time and time again. And he does a bloody AMAZING job at that.
