Maybe. But I don't think anybody could have saved Silver Girl, outside producer or not. Lyrically it was just appalling, Stevie's voice wasn't at its best and the music did little to "brush over" that fact.

Honestly, this. And frankly, Stevie's SYW songs weren't all that fabulous to begin with either. I think Lindsey did the best he could do. We will never know whether an outside producer would have made them "better" unless she takes all her original tracks and decides to release an album with all those songs done by a different producer.

I became a FM fan mainly from that period, but I was really mostly impressed with Lindsey's songs on that album. They were stellar. Some of Stevie's were good to me, but on a whole I think quite forgettable.
