I'm glad Songbird got some votes. When I left earlier it didn't have any.

Songbird seems to be overlooked for one reason or other.

Yeah I thought a few more than that too.

I love the way Mick Fleetwood describes "Songbird" on classic albums.

Edith Piaf reference..

I <33 Songbird...such a pretty song! It was tough not choosing it, but, I had to go with Second Hand News, for the lyrics and for it being so much fun live!

Heart second hand news

no competition - SHN - the music, the lyrics, the aggression, the cheekiness, the bam-bam-bams, the structure, the length - it is a perfect and genius little pop song that leaves you wanting more of it.

there's a reason that it's still a hit to this day [however much you all insisted it is not a *legitimate* hit, whatever that's supposed to mean in the age of satellite radio, digital downloads, all different personal online music services...].

even Kid Rock felt the need to include an homage to it.

Is it a bit cliche to say I like them all?
But if it's one you need, well then it's
Songbird.

I voted for "Never Going Back Again" as it's one of my all time favourite songs. I just like its acoustic, down to earth, simplicity and of course that guitar...

Sigh. Nevermind that it's 30+ years old and none of that was around then....and that it was never released as a single. Wasn't a hit then, certainly not a hit now. Seriously? This is not a difficult concept. By the way, there are still singles - they're called "digital singles". And there are still charts for singles, even in iTunes.

Album cuts (all the other songs on an album not released as a single) still do not have charts. Why would they? If the song is not promoted or played on the radio (or back in the day you could only purchase it as part of the album) then the song would not chart. But, there are charts for albums.

It was a toss up between SHN and NGBA as I love them both equally - SHN won this time

I absolutely cannot stand Oh Daddy and Songbird!
