Would anyone be willing to post the link to this?

Love In Store- Not one of my favorites, but I do enjoy listening to this one. it sets the tone for the record, and the harmonies are really well defined here.
Only Over You- The guitar in this is really beautiful, but the melody and lyrics quickly become monotonous.
Hold Me- Adds some much-needed energy. Love it! I am obsessed with the video for this, it's hilarious.
Wish You Were Here- This is a good way to close the record. I like the line "because I feel like a child tonight." This is probably my second favorite Christine song on Mirage.

Love In Store - I love this; it's so bouncy! Should've been a bigger hit than it was.

Only Over You - It took me forever to make myself listen past that opening line... But once you get past that, the rest is a very pretty song, if a little monotonous.

Hold Me - Yes to song and yes to video.

Wish You Were Here - I really love this, especially the jam at the end. Wish they'd played it live.

Agreed. Although it took me FOREVER to like Only Over You. It was just too sleepy for me.
But I've always felt the same way about Warm Ways, Oh Daddy, Honey Hi, One More Night, and Mystified. I don't hate them, but they're just a little too sleepy for me...

They did play it live... but for some reason they called it "Silver Springs."

But Chris didn't sing lead, did she?

"Love In Store": A decent tune, but not really hooky enough to be a single. The harmonies are very nice...one of the last gasps of really strong 3-part harmony with all three vocalists participating.

"Only Over You": Actually not a bad song, but the oft-cited offending line ("I'm out of my mind") is in a soprano range which isn't where Christine's voice shines. There is a strident quality to that line (the opening of the song, unfortunately) that makes the song a tough listen. Christine's voice is much more appealing in the alto range.

"Hold Me": A deserved hit single. Pretty amazing that they could create such a strong hook with the layered vocals on the chorus with just the words "hold me" repeated.

"Wish You Were Here": A solid album track, nothing spectacular but not bad. It was a surprise when they recycled the piano intro for the 1997 "Silver Springs".

As I think about not just Christine's tracks but all the songs on Mirage, it occurs to me that each of them has merit as a standalone track. Some are better than others, but I can't say there are any outright embarrassments or misfires. The problem with Mirage is that there is an overall politeness and blandness when listening to in its entirety. The album could have used a rocker or two to shake things up, or at least carried over a bit of Tusk's quirkiness. As it is, Mirage is pleasant, polished and professional but definitely a case where the whole is less than the sum of the parts.

I don't know what is wrong with me. "Hold Me" is universally loved, but I just don't get it. It's not my least favorite Christine song, but I'm pretty sure it's my least favorite FM song to have been released as a single. I guess one thing I don't understand is why repeating "hold me" over and over again is any better of a chorus than "what's the matter baby" being repeated just as many times in WISYA.

I'm surprised Only Over You is so vilified! There's no other like it in her catalog of songs. It has a cool ethereal quality to it. I have always enjoyed it. People say I'm crazy. but they don't know!

I think it's beautiful and the swelling instrumentation at the end only heightens it.
