Ppl, do you really want to do something? Call Call Call. When I called and spoke with HK I was the first person that had spoken to anyone. You are not going to get Sheryl Louis, she is on the road and before that, the chances were slim, but, you can talk to her assistant. You can talk to Carls asst, and to Tonys....Only one other fan, until yesterday, had called ANYONE. They want and need to hear from you...please.
Then who the heck did I actually talk to awhile back?! LOL

I called HK back in late April or early May and an assistant transferred my call to Sheryl Louis. Was it Sheryl that I talked to or another assistant? I remember that she told me to call back on Monday because I called on a Friday, but after that, I got the runaround.

About a week and a half ago, I sent a fax to HK with my name, number, links to here, the fan club rip-off web site, and a couple other things but, alas, I didn't get either a call or a fax back. Next time someone calls, can you ask if they received a fax? It was two pages long!

I'm trying to do as much as I can, but it isn't very encouraging. Anyways, I'll continue just as I know y'all will!

I wrote to HK in March. I used delivery confirmation with signature required. The receipt shows Sheryl Louis signed for it. I included a lot of information on the fan club. I had documentation to support my claims. I did get a refund. In my own mind I think she had something to do with it, but I can't say for sure because my letter was never answered. For all I know she threw it in the rubbish. If she thinks my case is an isolated incident it must be that nobody's complaining except by posting messages on this board. That won't get anywhere. You have to complain in writing and keep doing so until you get an answer. I assumed everyone else who lost money contacted all the people and places you took the time to list in all the fan club threads. Not so? I guess what they say is true. When you assume...you make an ASS of U and ME.

Well, if people are complaining about all of this fan club and JT stuff and they're NOT calling, they have no one to blame but themselves. If they aren't going to put in the effort to bring this guy down, they don't deserve a refund or anything. You're right on that one, Glitter.

I finally came in & read this thread. I wasn't going to mention this, but since now it might be relevant (or at least interesting)...
Perhaps this is coincidence, but Tuesday I had to cancel plans and spend the day trying to save my computer as something erased all my internet access and replaced it with AOL! (No, I was not hacking into your account, Seeknpeace, but please let me know if you got my Earthlink stuff on yours! ) After speaking by phone with a baffled Earthlink customer service rep, I had to download everything again. I'm glad it was never my main e-mail addy; all those old e-mails are gone. Now my computer has Earthlink restored, but everything in it (icons, etc.) looks totally different.

On the bright side, you have shown me how to be pro-active about the fan club problem. Apparently if my posts here are nasty enough towards the club, TPTB will want to bargain with me for cash.
Totally do-able.

I think lots of times ppl are upset and need to vent but, depend on others to do the grunt work...take the heat maybe. But, this is something that numbers are important in. If only one or two ppl complain, but, there are so many here, well, the management ppl see the two or three who come to them as just not that big of a deal...but, when so many come, it is different. That is why the petition helped a lot. Those 375 names were a big deal. JT could not say it was a hand full of ppl lead by Sara M., like he did before. There were ppl on there that I have never heard of who are reading the boards and not commenting...so all of you, any of you,,,,pick up the phone. Management is receptive. talk to the assts....they will get your message to the right ppl.

When you contacted them, dissention, it was early on and they were so in a tizzy bout the tour, but, now it is different. and those calls matter so much, those letters. Fax your letter, mail it...whatever you need to do..but, let them know that they need to either dissolve the club and refund the money or put someone that respects the band and the fans in charge of the club.

Just the way that the fan who was contacted was treated and talked down to this past week, that is so disrepectful and so out of line. Get rid of them, and all associated with the current line up on Micks site too...and start over. How frigging hard is that?

And, the difference with this fan club, and Micks site, is that it was something that was set up to make money and not as a fan thing..it had nothing to do with reaching out to us. Some of the other fan clubs are created and maintained by the artist as a means of reaching the fans, of rewarding the loyalty, etc, and not given over to some Internet Guru who goes to meetings and sells his companies ability to teach you how to make money on the web...to use his term, Work The System. That is all that he is about as far as I can tell....

This computer stuff is no joke. It's no coincidence either. Many people who posted negative messages about the fan club have been messed with. If there are people out there saying the fan club's bargaining with someone asking for a refund by telling them to first erase posts or delete negative threads here, what else is going on we don't know about?

My computer was messed with and I know where it came from. I mentioned that in my letter to HK as well as in my letter to the fan club asking for a refund. I got a refund and was not messed with again until recently when I started helping someone else get a refund. The day after I agreed to help this person, I got hacked again. Now I have a log file of Internet activity on my firewall server. It aint gonna happen again.

I have a client who owns an IT Security firm (the Treasury Department is one of his clients) and he recomended a Microsoft hub firewall. It's a couple of hundered dollars. I've had excellent success with my firewall. Can't hurt.

yeah, but, unless you get one of the best out there, and there are only two that I am told, and they cost 1000.00 each, you cannot prevent a good hacker from getting into your system. And, with my AOL being hacked, the firewall does no good for that. You can sign on from another location.

NO, it is not a joke and it is like someone being in your underwear drawer. Not cool at all. ANd, a crime to boot. I am told that we can call local authorities and have the hacker traced so that maybe my next stop.

You have to know with them trying to blackmail this fan with partial refund, not even a full one, they have no bottom. And, all those happy thread posts? They may not have used this same tactic to get them, but, most of them were manipulated imo. Either with offers or with tsk tsk emails, or something, but, not just unsolicited...and to Mick's site's credit, I really see very few, if any, ppl taking up for JT or what he has done, even the admins. They are fussing bout the efforts made to raise ppls conscienceness or to enlighten them or get them stirred up off of their seat of complacency, but, they are not defending JT in the process. The ones who were, really strongly, are either gone or quiet or something. If we were in a court of law regarding the tactics that were used with this fan, would it not put a question on every other happy crappy post that he has elicited, and as such, the posts would not be allowed?

I have to hand them one thing, they are stupid ppl for what they do and how traceable it is...and for that, I am grateful. They make our case every time they open their mouths or type an email...

Can you get more info about that for me? Is it hardware? I am gonna protect myself one way or the other.

Tammy, I am so sorry. I think that we need to get this looked into. Lets talk first of the week. We can put our heads together. Sounds like it is getting time to play hard ball.

Wow--this hacking business is serious stuff. I find it highly suspicious that so many of you "fan club" folks are having similar problems. It seems to me that JT will stop at nothing to save his own ass, and of course, screw FM fans!

He is a scary person as he seems to have no concerns about what management think or can do to him.

Ok-LANDSLIDE:

I don't know a lot about computers but I know how you feel about going to find something and not being able to find it.
Something similar happened to me with my music media right after my husband did system maintenance on the computer. Actually Documents and Media were affected.
ALL my stuff in the windows media appeared gone.
It was just empty.
It really bugged me for a few days so I decided to go to search from the start menu and then I searched for one of my media files. I think I just put in the name of a song that I uploaded from one of my CD's. I don't think I put in the whole file name just the title.
Anyway, the search found my song and when I went to the folder where that song was all the rest of my media stuff was there also.
I guess what happened is when my husband did the maintenance, the computer defaulted to the main desktop and the main media.
I sure hope maybe this is the case in your situation.
Maybe someone here has some technical experience that can help if you still aren't able to resolve it.
