Bobby D was touring with the Dead in the 80's and they played a big show in I think it was Oakland or in California somewhere. My friend was sitting on the stage with his friend who was mixing the sound. He prefaces this story with "I was really shy when I was younger." He calls it his Stevie story and I've heard him tell it a bunch of times. Anyway they're sitting there and this woman comes out in this gauzy duster type thing and of course all the guys are checking her out because a) she's beautiful and b) she's not wearing anything underneath. He turns to his friend the sound guys and says "Is that...?" His friend says "yeah, it's Nicks, she's with Dylan." Now keep in mind this was pre Betty Ford because, yes, I asked him about that too and the answer was affirmative. Apparently it was an open secret. My friend Mr. Shy said he couldn't keep looking at her because of the get up and he still gets flustered when he talks about it. I don't know about Destiny Rules but I definitely think Whole Lotta Trouble is about him.

Wow... thanks for sharing that story! I wish she would write her damn autobiography!
