Worst Lyrics - "Oh Diane"
Should've been a hit single - "That's Alright" (I don't care what anybody says, this version is better than the "Designs of Love" demo) Never understood the appeal of - "Hold Me" (Sorry, I find the harmony weak. Why blend the voices in such a bland manner when all three vocalists sound so great on their own on the rest of the album? This song could be better for me if Stevie could be heard on it, & maybe if the chorus had the individual voices singing each "ho-old meee" line - sort of like a tug-of-war for affection.) Album could have been better if - Lindsey kept the dated pop sound to a few of his songs (like "Book of Love", which I think is great) & had more finger-picking folk stuff, where he really excels. Also if the production placed greater emphasis on the vocals. Much better performed live - "Love in Store" (never liked it until I saw the Mirage concert) Overall least favorite - "Can't Go Back" I love the variety of Stevie's songs & think they're all great. Overall I think Mirage is underrated. - Jake
