I agree with her self-assessment; but it doesn't take into consideration something that has become clear over the years: the style in her conceptions & executions.

Imagine a far greater technician of the keyboard -- Roy Bittan of the E Street Band -- writing the electric piano & organ parts for Dreams. The style would have been all wrong.

Her piano skills were partly what I was referring to, too, as part of my wider opinion that 'Sugar Daddy' exemplifies very well the bottom end of what she was able to accomplish in terms of composition in her years in FM.

The bit about her proper place being in a pub band was harsh, as I've conceded. But I really would urge all Ledgies to spend a little time reading the archives on this board, because it's easy to build up an image of someone that is quite at variance with most things they've ever said or done in public.

For example, read the first four articles in the Christine section of the Blue Letter Archives and then tell me that that incarnation of her doesn't make you feel just a little bit queasy? She was a feminist's nightmare. So was Stevie, up till at least Tusk, and in many ways still is.
