Update on what Gary Hodges has been up to...

[Livia]

I had a great time in the studio yesterday. Had a blast. It’s the first time I’ve had the chance to work with Gary Hodges in the studio forum. He flat brung it.

Here’s what you need to know about Gary; Stevie Ray Vaughan was the guitar player in his first band. He can get Jim Keltner and Hal Blaine on the phone. He was playing with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham before Mick showed up on the scene.

Anyway, we went in to cut a couple of instrumentals yesterday. The first one is a riff I’ve been knocking around for a while called “Paper Or Plastic”. Gary, hearing the riff for the first time says “You’re looking for a Richie Heyward thing here”. Crazy thing is, Gary had not heard of Richie’s passing. So, I broke that news to him. I feel like this though; what we laid down is better tribute than anything I can espouse here.

We also cut a thing called “cornFEDEX” that’s got a real early Zep vibe. I’m looking forward to laying this stuff on you. Bottom line is, we’re going to do more cutting, less talking. I’m just lettin’ you know…
