Default Your Favorite Album by The Police?

I've been on a music binge this last few days, listening to albums in my collection that I've never listened to before, or haven't heard in their entirety for years. I own all five of The Police's studio albums, but never got around to listening to them aside from the hits. I used to be totally indifferent to the band, but listening to them through headphones with the volume cranked up really gave me a new appreciation of them. Seriously, I had no idea that Sting used to be cool at one point. So, here's how I currently rank their albums:

Regatta de Blanc: This seems to be a "lost classic," but I really love this entire album. Love the overall energy of it, the interplay between fast and slow songs, the thick bass, the freewheeling nature of some of the tracks, and the blatant white Reggae sound. It probably helps that Message In A Bottle, the only song on here that ever gets any air play, still sounds really good three decades later.

Ghost In The Machine: I was tempted to put Zenyatta Mondatta as my second favorite, but I feel like sticking up for the underdog. People bash Ghost for not sounding like their earlier albums, but hey, I actually like the way it sounds. Messy and experimental, and some of the tracks are okay at best, but I still find it fascinating to listen to. Bonus points for Stewart Copelands awesome drumming throughout.

Zenyatta Mondatta: Awesome Side A, decent Side B. Half the songs on here are insanely catchy ear-worms, but the other half are obviously a product of this album's rushed production. Still the half that's excellent is so good the other half doesn't bother me that much.

Outlandos d'Amour Lots of youthful energy, and some really catchy songs, but I can't help but feel that Regatta does the same thing but 10 times better. Andy Summers' ode to inflatable sex doll is friggin' hilarious, though.

Synchronicity The band's most musically and lyrically sophisticated album, but beyond the two title tracks, it just seems a little dull and anemic-sounding (i.e., like a Sting solo album) to me. I've heard Every Breath You Take and Wrapped Around Your Finger about 1.5 million times each now, and really, enough is enough.
