gay pride festival in Minneapolis

So anyway this weekend that just ended was our big gay pride festival here in Minneapolis. Its supposed to be the biggest one in the midwest. I always usually participate but this year I sat out for a couple reasons. One was that I am saving money for various things, such as my trip to Europe this fall and a new car which I badly need! I find our pride to be fun in that it's a way for me to go and meet alot of people just like myself, ( and who knows, maybe a future husband!) although I'm not holding my breath on that one. One of our gay bars here is called the Saloon and they have this huge block party where they rent the back of a parking lot and can fit at least 2-3,ooo people in there. This year the headliner music acts were someone called Amber who I've never heard of and Blake Lewis, who was runner-up on American Idol one year. I remember back in 2006 Maxine Nightingale appeared there and I got a chance to meet her which was a real thrill. Anyhoo, enough rambling by me. SO do any of my fellow Ledgies attend pride festivals in wherever youre from and what are they like? I'd love to hear!
