Artists Gear Up For 'music's Biggest Night' -- The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards
By: Lauren Moraski

Music artists have started touching down in Los Angeles, as the countdown begins for the 52nd annual Grammy Awards. On Sunday (January 31st), the Recording Academy will host what's billed as "Music's Biggest Night" at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Grammys will broadcast live starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

Beyonce leads the pack this year with ten nominations. Country star Taylor Swift is up for eight, while the Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and Kanye West have six nods apiece. DJ David Guetta, Jay-Z, and Lady Gaga have five nominations each; and Colbie Caillat, Michael Giacchino, Kings Of Leon, John Newton, producer RedOne, Bruce Springsteen, T-Pain, and Keith Urban each have four nominations.

Performers will include all five Album of the Year nominees -- Beyonce, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Dave Matthews Band and Swift, as well as Bon Jovi, Green Day, Lady Antebellum, Stevie Nicks, Maxwell, Pink and the Zac Brown Band.

The show will also feature a 3-D tribute to Michael Jackson featuring Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Carrie Underwood and Usher. Special 3-D glasses for the Jackson performance will be available at Target stores through Sunday.

Presenters will include: Stephen Colbert, Alice Cooper, Sheryl Crow, Wyclef Jean, Miranda Lambert, John Legend, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Seal, Quentin Tarantino, Placido Domingo, Juanes, Glee actress Lea Michelle, Lionel Richie, Keith Urban, Simon Baker, Ryan Seacrest, Chris O'Donnell, Robert Downey Jr., Kaley Cuoco, Kristen Bell, Justin Bieber, Jeff Bridges, Miley Cyrus, Josh Duhamel, the Jonas Brothers, Mick Fleetwood, Norah Jones, Ke$ha, LL Cool J, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana and Ringo Starr.

Mary J. Blige will sing a duet with tenor Andrea Bocelli on Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" -- as part of a fundraiser for Haiti earthquake relief.

Eminem, Drake, Lil Wayne and Travis Barker will team up for a special performance of Drake's single, "Forever."

Jamie Foxx will do a special segment with T-Pain, Slash and Doug E. Fresh.

According to the New York Post, Lady Gaga will do a duet with Elton John.

The circus-themed Grammy Celebration after-party will feature performances from Ne-Yo, Sam Moore and mixtape DJ Mick Boogie.

GRAMMY SOUND FROM BLACK EYED PEAS AND COLBIE CAILLAT

Will.i.Am tells us he's happy about the Grammy nominations and can't believe how well the latest Black Eyed Peas album, The E.N.D., has done: "We're just blessed to have six nominations. And how crazy The E.N.D. has performed. We've done big things with this. We haven't sold as much as we did on Monkey Business, but the things that we've done with The E.N.D. have surpassed Monkey Business ten-fold. You know, 27 weeks, Number One, the Oprah flash mob thing, the Direct TV spot, the Super Bowl kick-off, the Grammys, the AMAs. It's just crazy stuff."

Colbie Caillat is up for two nominations in the Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals category, including "Lucky" with Jason Mraz and "Breathe" with Taylor Swift. We asked her which song she'd rather seen win: "Oh, it's tough because I love both the songs so much, I don't know which one I'd want to win. I love Jason and Taylor. So whichever one, I think, well of course I'll just be excited."

Colbie Caillat tells us that she's taking her producer father as her date to the Grammys: "Well, my Dad he produced my last record, Breakthrough. He produced most of it. And my Dad has a Grammy from thirty years ago with Fleetwood Mac and he's the one who inspired me to become a musician and a songwriter. So he's the appropriate match to be my date. He deserves it."

Colbie Caillat tells us what she'll be wearing to the Grammys: "Bashley Mishka is designing the dress, and I got to help them custom make it -- material, cut, color, everything. So I'm really excited."
