Sanctuary - Master Reel to Reel - Disc #1

1.01 Sanctuary

Taken from the original master reel to reel tape. This studio session was recorded April 1981.

During this session, the song "Sanctuary" is constructed (Instrumentation and lyrics are arranged and the song is pieced together).

Some of the dialog between Stevie and Tom Petty is very funny! (At the end Stevie asks for a glass of champagne as the Heartbreakers are "arguing" over how the song should be arranged, what should be changed, added, dropped, etc.)

Sound quality is perfect-absolutely amazing!

Length: 21 minutes

Tracklist & info:
Sanctuary - Master Reel to Reel - Disc #2

2.01 Sanctuary (Take #3 Complete)
2.02 Sanctuary (Take #4 Instrumental)
2.03 Sanctuary (Take #5 Complete)
2.04 Sanctuary (Blues Outtake)
2.05 Put Your Sweet Lips to the Phone (Very short outtake)
2.06 Sanctuary (Take #6 Complete)
2.07 Chilean Caped Caper (Very short outtake)
2.08 Sanctuary (Take #7 Complete)

Includes five studio takes of the track "Sanctuary" (One version is purely instrumental).

The audio between each take (which is best described as "musicians at play") is, in itself, awesome & very cool.
