John singing on Save Me a Place?

Is John singing in the chorus of SMAP? I have a clip of him singing during a photo shoot and it certainly sounds like he's doing the lower parts ("saaaaveee me a plaaaaaaceee"). Of course it could be Lindsey being weird.
