What song lyrics really meant a lot to you, touched you, or you felt identified with?
I enjoyed a lot Escape (Pina colada song) lyrics, It's about a man who, disenchanted with his current relationship, reads the personals and spots an ad that catches his attention: the ad of a woman who is seeking a man that, among other things, must like piña coladas, and he answers her So I wrote to the paper, Took out a personal ad, And though I'm nobody's poet, I thought it wasn't half bad, "Yes I like Pina Coladas... And getting caught in the rain..." But 2 songs really touched me. One is Silver Springs, that you perfectly know, and the other is Elton's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. With both songs I felt kind of identified, in different times of my life of course.. It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics To set you on your feet again Maybe you'll get a replacement There's plenty like me to be found Mongrels who ain't got a penny Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground So goodbye yellow brick road Where the dogs of society howl You can't plant me in your penthouse I'm going back to my plough
