Steve Martin and BN

Seems like Anne Heche (and banjos) are not the only things Steve and Lindsey had in common. Steve recalls his early days as a comedian:

They first crossed paths on the Greenwich Village club scene circa 1974. At the time, Martin wore an arrow through his head as a standup comedian and Trischka had a group called Breakfast Special. They were booked together at a nightspot called the Metro, along with Fleetwood Mac precursor Buckingham Nicks.

"Not one person came," Martin deadpans. "I went to the owner and I said, 'You know what, you don't have to pay me. I'll just go.' He said, 'Let's give it another night.' The next night, no one came. He said, 'Okay, go.'"
