Stevie's gay fans

I don't know if this was ever brought up here before but has Stevie ever acknowledged her gay fans? I mean, Cyndi Lauper has not only acknowledged us but her last album was pretty much made for dance clubs. I'd say she was pandering for the pink dollar as some would say if it weren't for the fact that her sister is a lesbian and she's had a great many gay fans over the years. So now she's doing the True Colors tours and honoring the fans who have pretty much made her a star.

Now, let's look at Stevie. I know her gay fans haven't made her but the night of 1,000 Stevies shows how many drag queens love to dress up like her. Her tragic story of a love (Lindsey) she can never have mirrors the experiences many of us have had falling for straight guys, so we can really identify with her on that level. And all the recent club mixes for Stand Back and Planets where targeted for gay clubs.

Silver Springs will always be the song that reminds me of the first guy I ever fell in love with, and the girl who won his heart. "Did you say she was pretty? And did you say that she loves you... baby, I don't wanna know" Heartbreaking, I tell you.

So has Stevie ever been interviewed in a gay magazine or asked about her gay fans?
