D.V.D help

Help. I have just ordered the Audio D.V.D of Rumours.
After talking to a guy at Future Shop here in Canada he said it won't work for me.
I have a cd writer/ dvd combo drive on my computer with a 5.1 sound card with 4 speakers and a sub. This man claims that the drive won't recognise audio dvd, after I have to pay 38 bucks for it. Any help would be nice.
Thanks Alison
