So I just got back yesterday from a trip seeing some guitar player. SHe's pretty good.
Ok now onto the serious stuff. I had to work until 11 A.M last Monday so I had to leave for Chicago immideately after work. Got in about 6:45 P.M, which was perfect. I have to say the setup at the HOB there is a bit confusing but not that big a deal. I secured a place right up by the stage and the show was excellent as usual. I believe Kristen's parents were up in teh balcony, but I cant say for sure. SO the next day it was on to Des Moines and the Val Air Ballroom. This place was really cool, and old 50's vintage concert room. One guy told me Buddly Holly played there back in the day. There was a bit of a smaller crowd here but the show was still top notch. Lindsey really liked the place, and mentioned something about how they dont make em like this anymore. Of course the next night was supposed to be Lincoln, but we all know what happened there, and I dont see any reason to beat that dead horse anymore. The good thing for me is that allowed me to get more of a head start to Albuquerque the next morning. I ran into the obligatory blizzard just south of Denver , and I couldnt see 10 feet in front of my windshield for about 2 hours. The next morning leaving Raton NM, It was the same thing until I got past Santa Fe, then it was smooth sailing into Albuquerque. The Isleta casino where he played was a niced small place, not huge at all. I managed to get right up front for both shows and I had a great time. Got some excellent pictures too, which I will hopefully have up shortly. Next was Boulder, and I must say it was one of the nicest most interesting places I've been to in awhile. Beautiful scenery and a very eclectic mix of people. Both shows were general admission, and my fellow road warrior Pattie and I were right up front both nights. Oh one last thing, a few hours before the Tuesday show, I was eating at this outdoor Italian cafe when Lindsey mustve seen me and walked up and said "Hey David, what's up?" I was stunned that he remembered my name, but we chatted for about 10 minutes before he went on his way. ![]() |
