Why do I hear so many people blathering on and on about how they loved high school and wish they could relive it?
I remember being in high school and saying how much I wanted it to be over, and everyone telling me how much I would miss it and how it would never be the same, and I would wish I could go back to living with my parents, etc. Well, guess what? It's 10 years later, and I have never missed it for a day. In fact, I look back and think that it really is a miracle that I made it through the first 20 years of my life without slitting my wrists. My hometown is one of the most racist, homophobic places I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing and if I ever make another trip there, it'll be too soon. My opinion of my family, teachers, and other students has not improved, either. So are people who say they loved high school and living with their parents lying, retarded, on crack, or what? ![]() |
