Just got back from the show. He was incredible! Great energy, great mood, and definitely a lot more confident and more comfortable than he was during the first leg of the tour! I was lucky to be able to see the first two shows last October, but I have to say that the show tonight was much better.
Same setlist as before...he's still doing Turn It On and Shut Us Down. I was suprised at how great Turn It On sounded live! Most people were sitting during the show, but a group of us finally stood up during I Know I'm Not Wrong---we HAD to dance to that one!!! How can anyone be still during that song?! We actually stood for the rest of the show at that point---that was lots more fun! I'm glad the people around us were doing that too! We were sitting on the third row in the section to Lindsey's right. My daughter stole the aisle seat from me. Security was pretty tight, and I saw very few cameras--of course I really wasn't paying much attention to that since I'd already decided to put mine away and just enjoy the show. Like I said, security was kinda asshole-ish at some points. I can understand trying to keep folks from jumping onstage or something, but they were even trying to push us back during GYOW. Lindsey actually told us to "get off our asses" and "storm the aisles" or something like that before the song. My daughter REALLY wanted to play his guitar, and several people were encouraging us to go on up there, but I was still worried about Mr. Asshole security guy. Then Lindsey actually pointed at at my daughter as he came to the edge of the stage (ok, OBVIOUSLY Mr. Asshole security guy, Lindsey WANTED people to come up---duh! ), and she got to play his guitar. And I did too!! She said she grabbed his hand, and later she said, "Mommy, he SWEATED on me!!!!" Meh, maybe so, but she'll be taking a shower when she winds down in a bit...which needs to be soon since it's nearly 1am....After the show---well, I'll admit that we ran out before he finished Shut Us Down --we went to the stage door to try to get a picture and autograph. No luck there. I don't know how they did it, but they snuck him out and away! I even got my husband to go back and forth between the front of the venue and the side street where we were standing. There was a pretty large crowd waiting at first, but then it dwindled down to just a few of us crazies. It was cold, but we were determined. Oh well, there WILL be another leg of this tour, right? Maybe it'll be warmer then, and we'll try again. Great show, as I said before. His voice was great. He sounded amazing. He looked pretty amazing too! Lindsey and the band definitely have a great time together and you can feel how much they really respect and like each other. I hope he lets the big Mac keep on knocking---I'd LOVE it if he'd do the other cd and tour with it like he's done with this one. Ok, I'm all over the road with this review (it's almost 1am, gimme a break!). Just wanted to post something to let Ledgies know that YES, there are some of us at the shows! We had a great time! |
