Default Just got back from Heaven a.k.a My Babs Concert

Well, actually we got back about 12:30 but anyways.
I'll start from the beginning....

We leave the house at 5:45 and I had been so nervous all day. Which meant a couple of trips to the bathroom (sorry if thats TMI ). After 30 mins. on the road we call the house cause my grandmother is watching the babies (in case you didn't know my mother and I had babies 5 weeks apart ) to see if everything is ok. Well she didn't answer. Right away my mother starts thinking the worse, but after 7 trys we get her and everything is ok.

As we get closer my palms are getting very sweaty and my eyes start tearing up. I told my mother its too much for my mind to wrap around. So I get off at the right exit but somehow in the process get a little lost. So I call my daddy, the human navigation system, and we get there safe and sound. Found parking, that was $20!!!!! But it was close and didn't feel like looking around. SO we get out and pay then I go back to put the ticket on the dash and I couldnt' find the keys!!!! Mama starts yelling at me and cussing and I told her I don't have them and I said I gave them to you and she said I didn't but I did.

We get to our seat on the 21st row and had aisle seats towards the center!
The lights dim at 8:30 and the crowd goes crazy. The overture starts and we start crying and squeezing each others hand and my mother is rocking back and forth liek some mental patient. Then, La Streisand herself comes out and we jump to our feet and start screaming. She opens with Starting Here, Starting Now. At this point I'm pretty much sobbing cause I can't F*ING believe F*ING BARBRA STREISAND is in the same room as me!

Through out the show she seemed very comfortable and her voice was fabulous, of course. She talked about eating around Atlanta. She said she had spare ribs from Fat Matts, Fried Chicken from somewhere, dessert and pizza from Mellow Mushroom. When she came back from her 3rd costume change she kicked off her shoes. She just seemed so relaxed and excited to be there.

Then came the infamous Bush skit. And unless she's changed it I don't know what the big deal is. And you know the guy that does the skit is a Republican and has performed in front of the President. So all the hecklers need to shut up. It was fun and pretty tamed if you ask me. She did inform us that the cup that got thrown at her was a mistake. The guy was actually a guest and was in an arugment with his girlfriend and in the heat of them moment came out of his hand and on to the stage.

BTW, I agree with Rosie, I could have Il Done without Il Divo. I don't know why she had them tag along. The highlights for me where, Happy Days Are Here Again, Don't Rain On My Parade (Broadway version) and Somewhere. Also My Man and Jason you;ll love this she played Lost Inside of You on the piano!!!!! After it was over my mother was crying and I was crying and I told here I wish it wasn't over.

Truly an experience of a lifetime. It's something I've wished for for a very long time and if finally came true.
Love Ya Barb!!

Sorry its so long, and I'll have some video up soon.
