I couldn't even run my fingers through the hair of my second boyfriend because it was moussed and sprayed like nobody's business. I didn't like that.
I've used gel a few times over the years, and tried mousse in the '80s (hey, everyone else was doing it!), but I really don't like to be bothered. I wash my hair and comb it, and that's good enough for me. So I'm with you, David... I don't get it either. But to each their own.
