Memorial Field

stirring sight

Each flag represents a person who died in WTC on 9/11/01. I saw a bit about this on the news on Sunday night, all of the victim's names are also printed on the flag. The man responsible for getting this done was one of the survivors.

here's a press release:

The 9/11 Memorial Field is a garden of 3000 Flag of Honor and Flags of Heroes on 10’ flag poles. In addition there will be flags representing to 92 nations that lost citizens in the attack.

This will be the first and only 9/11 event in NYC that is open to the entire 8 million New Yorkers who lived through the events of 9/11. It will be a place to reflect, to share stories and to heal. A place for the rescue workers, the volunteers, those who worked at the site and those who watched. All were intimately changed and this place is for them.
