Mick's gonna be a judge on "Star Tomorrow"

Orlando's star of tomorrow?: Local fixture Jeff Coffey is among 100 acts selected to compete on NBC's "StarTomorrow." It's an Internet-based talent search that kicked off with a prime-time TV special on Monday.

Online viewers will vote on the performers for the first half of the 14-week series, with the winners moving on to perform for star judges such as Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and Mick Jones of Foreigner. You can register online at startomorrow.com to cast a vote for Coffey and keep track of his progress. Voting in this week's competition ends at 9 p.m. Monday. The grand prize is a deal on Emmy-nominated producer David Foster's record label.

On Monday's show, Foster announced that Coffey was among his three favorites in this week's round. In town, Coffey (myspace.com/jeffcoffey) plays occasionally on the porch at House of Blues, when he's not working on new material.
