Immigrant "sweep" nets over 2000 illegals

Just recently some news channel profiled an illegal immigrant couple who was here from Ireland...but no uproar over that one??

The Catholic Irish were the plague that was going to sweep over and ruin the U.S. back about 125 years ago. There were exagerrated charactures in most majot newspapers and Irish people were depicted as corrupt policement, incompetent, shifty, cunning, ignorant, not able to speak English, lazy, of crude features, ate weird smelling foods, and on and on. There were a few vestiges of the prejudice still around when Kennedy ran for president. Now Irish music is very popular and the prejudice seems to have been long extinct in America.
